Supporting St. Ann's Hospice

During the coming year, the Band has decided to devote its fundraising efforts to a very worthy cause: St. Ann's Hospice.

Over the years and, indeed, very recently, many of us have experienced first hand the care and comfort provided to our loved ones by the wonderful team at St. Ann's Hospice.

In the  seven decades and more since the Band was founded in St. John's parish, we have always been keen to play a part in our community, in Wythenshawe, South Manchester and further afield. It is only fitting that we should play our part in helping St. Ann's Hospice to provide such essential care to the community for years to come.

We have therefore decided to offer a bargain price £2.50 for early bird tickets, in the hope that we will get St. Kent's buzzing with a great crowd, in a packed room, all ready for a great night's entertainment while giving generously to St. Ann's Hospice via the Grand Raffle.

And where else would you get such a fantastic line-up for so little ?!?

On the door, tickets will be priced at £5, so remember to get yours now, half price!

Plodding for St. Ann's

As part of our fundraising efforts for St. Ann's Hospice, a group of band members and band friends and family of all ages will be dragging, for some, their aching limbs, hip replacements and gammy legs around the city centre in the 10K Great Manchester Run 2020 on Sunday 24th May. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for further updates.

Supporting the Band

Even if you can't make it on the night, feel free to buy a ticket or two (or even ten!!!) to support the Band.

As you already know, the Band provides free tuition, instruments and uniforms to anyone wishing to join and learn the bagpipes and drums. This obviously comes at a cost, and any help you can give us is most gratefully appreciated.

This year, we have been welcomed into St. Anthony's Primary School to offer piping and drumming lessons, free of charge, to year five and year six children. It's a very exciting opportunity to ensure the future of the band.
